Tropical Aquaculture Laboratory

Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Sciences

To Whom It May Concern:

In my capacity as the University of Florida Ornamental Aquaculture Extension Faculty it is my responsibility to extend the resources of the University as well as the services of the Tropical Aquaculture Laboratory (TAL). The TAL is a one of a kind stand alone educational and research facility which offers applied research, fish health diagnostics and educational programs (workshops) to the certified ornamental producers of the state.

This letter is to confirm that Colin D. Calway, of Happy Trails Aquatics is certified as an Aquaculture Producer with the Department Of Agriculture Consumer Services in the State of Florida. Colin along side his wife Sandy has been successfully producing ornamental aquatic plants , quality Koi as well as several different varieties of Live Bearers. It must also be mentioned that over the past 7 years Happy Trails Aquatics has evolved into 18 secluded acres of a beautifully landscaped production facility. During this time, Colin has actively attended many of the workshops offered here at the TAL and regularly takes advantage of our fish diagnostic services. Colin is also cooperating with the University of Florida and is into the second year of a 2 year SVC (Spring Viremia of Carp) Surveillance Program with the goal of ultimately certifying Happy Trails Aquatics SVC free.

If I can be of any further help please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Carlos V. Martinez
